i've checked. alas, it means exactly the opposite ... violent fury. but thanhks anyway.

Have just looked back at a post about this and dwil suggested
Fureur and Chambers confirms it
Fureur ..extravagant admiration.

one wonders who to believe. my french dictionary (a good one) does not give this meaning for fureur. i've checked it on google and that doesn't give this meaning, either. god knows where chambers got it from because i think they're wrong. however, it's there so i'll use it. thanks, shaney and gardenknowin.

Well...I always rely on Chambers and it's there,as a French Noun on page 598 in the New Ninth edition.And also here

Bradfords gives Fureur as ...admiration !
