A song called "Main Attraction" by The Streets. In the 70's...
Hi,
I have this song titled "Main Attraction" and the artist is "The Streets". It is a classic rock kind of song, and obviously not by the well-known Streets fronted by Mike Skinner.
I've had this song for years, I must have downloaded it from somewhere at some point, so I don't know if it's mis-labled or whatnot.
I really want to find out more about the band and song. Maybe someone knows it? I've googled everywhere for the lyrics, etc, but can't find anything, and I know how to use Google.
Some of the lyrics go like this:
Lights, camera, action /
I could see myself --- pulling through /
Well now there's... [unknown] /
And I was... [unknown] /
Did I hear you say /
I was the main attraction /
Did I hear you say /
I stole the show /
Went out in to all the kind of action /
And now that you can... [unknown] /
What's it going to bother me /
When the cameras... [unknown] /
Want to be with my family /
If I could only find the time /
Well it's a crazy world /
With a whole lot happening /
So keep it together... [unknown] /
Well now to get the things you been getting /
You gotta go it right, you gotta lead a one way life
I didn't intend to post the whole lyrics but I did. It has two male singers at the end. If anyone has it on and old LP or something, I'd really appreciate knowing about the band more. It's a killer track!
Thanks

You may have this already, but here's some info:

I've just found it on limewire.
4 clicks on the drum sticks then into a jolly upbeat almost folk-rock guitar, strange staccato vocals almost half spoken, a bit Steve Harley/Steve Forbert ish (it's not either of them!)
Harmonies are off-key, very little production...I just wonder if it's a demo or a semi-pro band.
Sorry mate, I haven't the foggiest!!
