Does anyone know the answer to this poser?

There is one plural word in the English language that becomes singular when the letter s is added. What is the word? I am hoping that someone out there knows the answer. Many thanks.

Princes / princess
'Necropolises' is generally used as the plural of 'necropolis'...however, 'necropoli' has been used and is recorded in The Oxford English Dictionary. So, plural 'necropoli' when an 's' is added, becomes singular 'necropolis'.
Smiffy's answer is clearly the one you are looking for, but there are two words which fit the bill now!

Princes (Plural)
Princess (Singular)
