MM Links Game 2007 January [Week 1]

Well, I'm much earlier than last week and yet I'm still only coming in at number 60 ! Thanks Crofter for saving that bush in the shrubbery for me to lurk behind, but wasn't able to get there this morning. Other things have kept me away till late this evening. Perhaps next week!
Anyway here goes for this week:-

This is the start of the second day and so far there have been 48 entries - but some notable absentees. To name a few: addict (always distracted), ChrisHewat (a regular from the beginning), gardenknowin & gardenmad (can't be gardening!), homeresque (come home), johnalex (my good mate), keyboardix (get QWERTYing), POINCIANA (generally a Sunday entrant), ShamrockBlue (shame on you!), twosearch (with a sharp eye for spotting links) and (last but not least) yelsel!

We have no fewer than 8 new names on the spreadsheet! Will it be a case of "beginner's luck" - or did Dustybun use it all up last month?

Minor point - Following in the MM style, I have already declared that all my link words contain between 4 (min) and 8 (max) letters. In view of this, you may wish to rethink your "Fall Guy"?

Oh horror. Just realised I also selected fall guy which is too short, so my slection for 'fall', if it's not too late is:

short - (short fall/fall short. ) Which seems appropriate in the circumstances!
