any thoughts kaya on 4 & 5
deave is a scottish word meaning deafen , plague torment or weary
BB I'm thinking about them, but I suspect they are Scottish words and I do not have a Scottish dictionary!
If I asked you if you were confident of your letters what would you say?

all suggestions welcome im as sure as can be with letters
grid is done once yearly has over 100 clues and as a rule is hard
i think answer might be scan but am nowhere near 100%
look + scan dont know if scan means to make clues fit though
other clue people are family but dont get french connection

id really appreciate any help

When used in connection with poetry, scan is a term sometimes used for the words or syllables fitting the rhythm of the poem. Not sure about cluer; the only meaning I know for this word is to do with giving someone a good thumping!
