MM Links Game 2007 january [Week 2]

These words were inspired by the title "A Man for
All Seasons" for Week 1.

Tomorrow at 9.00, the second set of four words
needing to be linked will be launched on AB using
a fresh posting.

Last week, the setter was looking for the links:
SpringBOARD
INDIAN Summer
FREE Fall
Winter WHEAT
All four links were eventually predicted but by
different entrants with no-one guessing more than
TWO correct!

Could YOU have guessed 3 out of 4? ... or all 4?

it! I'll even tell you that all the missing link
words contain between 4 and 8 letters.

Crofter, I'm ready for another attempt. Should we be using the relatively new Crossword section within Q & P bailiwick? We might start to get problems if we become somewhat divided!!

As far as ChrisHewat's message is concerned, only the rules are posted under Riddles. All our real business is conducted HERE under the bailiwick of Quizzes & Puzzles. The relevant posting will start to appear just before 9.00am tomorrow morning, but the four link words will appear as close as I can make it to 9.00am on that same posting.

It remains a fact Steff that the first three link words are usually spotted in the first ten entries - but not all together by one person. I also seem to remember that you got an early call in last week - in spite of the time difference!

I often recall my "Sherlock Holmes" act on you in the early days and have a bit of a giggle! It was very much "tongue in cheek". I wonder just how many ABers read it!

Likewise, I found it delightful and gave me much pleasure then and now - must admit your pseudonym conjures up the wilds of Scotland, a small cottage in a valley and I now know for sure, a man, perhaps in a kilt - well, how'm I going - so far off the mark as to be hysterical ??

thank you crofter - I gave in and read it! I hope lots of other people did too. It sort of sums up the atmosphere of this site - sort of welcoming, fun and un-defensive. I often wonder about the handles that people have chosen and how much of themselves is given away in that choice. Your posting was the perfect example of old-fashioned sleuthing with a smattering of lateral thinking. Now where did I leave my knitting.......?!! :O)

My really sharp reasoning was used to deduce that the regular on AB, Ontario-ice was Canadian! Impressive, eh?

I wish mine had been as sharp crofter. For some time I envisaged O-ice as a performer as I completely misread it as Oratorio-ice!! but please don't tell anyone!!! :O)
