OOOPS SORRY..I MEANT..singers who have recorded under a different name..i.e rod stewart recorded as python lee jackson...george micheal recorded as boogie box high..sorry i shoulda been more clear.
Here's a bit of a 'trick question' for your quiz.
"The Onion Song" is credited to Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrall but the female lead was actually sung by Valerie Simpson (Who later had hits with her husband as Ashford and Simpson).
Valerie simpson wrote the song and did the vocals as Tammi Terrall was sadly dying from brain cancer. I believe that Motown kept her name on the record so her family could collect royalties to pay for funeral expenses.
Just to corrrect my earlier post about The Travelling Willburys. It was Jeff Lynne (ELO), not Jeff Wayne. Tom Petty was also part of the set up.
Some we would prefer to forget about. Garry Glitter used to record as Paul Raven and Jonathan King had five top ten hits under five different names, which i cant remember all but one of them was Hedgehoppers Anonymous..
