Herculis returns
50 Answers
Given the four links to be established (using the words taken from today's DT) I would like to ask ABers precisely which words they would predict will appear in Monday's edition of the DT.
This is just a fun experiment. There will be no points - no timings taken - no spreadsheets.
The words from the DT are given in BLOCK CAPITALS and my personal predictions are also given (see below)

As soon as I have results, I shall post (or will invite another to post) the Link Words. What I shall be looking for will be consistency and predictability of these words. Also, is there a great deal of choice or were duplications forced upon us.
"Scoring" for this posting will be simplistic How many hits in four shots will suffice!

Three cheers for the return of Herculis and thanks to crofter for reviving the Links Game, and the hard work that it entails.
One little moan about Kate Mepham's first GK Crossword - at 38 down she appears to give a clue for ad-lib, but the answer is ad-hoc.
Anyway, here are my forecasts - nil pointe, no doubt :-
Thoroughbred RACEHORSE
HMS Illustrious
ISOchime
Glow-WORM

Whoopee - two chances of getting a "zero" this week!
WIND chime
thoroughbred STUD
illustrious ANCESTORS
glow WORM
Shortly after MM's sad death there was a short appreciation of him in the DT, which mentioned that his family hoped to carry on with his work. Lovely to see the name Mepham featuring again.

I think Alpen Glow
Thoroughbred Racing

I do realise that the last one is only 3 letters but 2 of the words are longer than the 8 michael used so we never know
