Whist and Yoga...thanks! Agreed re-Solitaire, but spelt wrong. Another question amongst these was "soon dim the spots (7)" which of course is the Greek island of Dominos!!! Like I said, it's not a quiz with a great reputation for accuracy, but it's for charidee!

Thanks again all. But patience was the answer to another one, and the "twisting progress" is meant to be 8 letters. Also, "marbles" was offered as the answer to "mother can get confused"......what does anyone else reckon?

Lawks Mate! Marmite is definitely a longshot.....unless it's possible that Marmite is a little-known sport or pastime, that I've never come across? I thought the "dressing" one could be Badinage....as in an extra "i" in "bandage"??? The results aren't published until Jan 2004, as it's a Christmas Quiz for a local hospice. I will do my best to remember. Thanks to all helpers......

The answer to Mother can get confused IS Marbles!.....so you see what I mean about the compilation of this! I wrote to the compiler and asked if he could put me out of my misery......but that was the only one that he would confirm.

on your own .... could this possibly be 'Jacks'? I know its a bit old fashioned and I don't think its played much anymore, but Jack Jones is slang for on your own. Just a thought :)

Try "dressage". point is usually to do with compass - search in hyperdictionary.com. What about "twirling" for the twisting progress. Don't forget to let us know!
