Another week has gone by and it's time again to match wits with Kate Mepham of the Daily Telegraph.
Can you predict the four Link Words successfully ?? The four words will be entered below by the first ABer to complete Saturday's crossword and they are invited to enter their own predictions at the same time.
So, we hope, will many others, and the competition will continue until Monday morning when the link words are known. They too can be entered at the end of this thread and the competition will close.
Shortly afterwards, yours truly will post the results on a new thread as soon as possible, so Good Luck to everyone
and hello back to Reg, Pauline, Teacher1 - who said anything about money ?? Dusty - are you just trying to psych us all out ?? heavens you lot have been busy, great to see some new faces - our web is spreading - still time to enter, so get thinking !!
Hi Steff and all
Crofter has just poked me with a sharp stick to wake me up! I haven't deserted, just working very hard (sob sob)... over the weekend too... aargh!
Here are my efforts:
Potential ENERGY
KENSINGTON square
HARVEST festival
Social EVENT
(1) Dustybun, Perhaps Pauline was referring to the following Vest ..... ???
VEST (Very Efficient Substitution Transposition) ciphers are a set of families of general-purpose hardware-dedicated ciphers that support single pass authenticated encryption and can operate as collision-resistant hash functions.
Cor .. it all sounds pretty way out to me, but would probably do the trick if you want to scupper us??
(2) Changing the subject >>>> Steff, just to say that I am too much of a gentleman to mention that 'C' word to you!
Or maybe I'm not .. YIPPEEEE we WON!!!!!!! ☺☺☺
and I'm very glad you/they did, sarumite - for Polished Orderly Mature Sportsmen they turned on a fantastic match and gave us a right thumping, long overdue some would say - now you'll just have to back it up with the World Cup !! Good Luck !! :-)))))))
hey, Gravit8 -I'm glad to see you again, I know that crofter cracks a mean whip when he wants to but perhaps the thought of a 'stroppy Ozzie' was too much for him - it's that didgeredoo you know, it'll get you every time.
I'm now going to drown my sorrows in amber fluid while sarumite crows - but I'll be back later [ and probably hic !! hic!!]
ok sarumite, I'm throwing in the towel! I lost the will to live halfway through your VEST definition! I think I'll stick to doublets in future!! Comes easier to say "Mine's a double(t)"!! :O)
Good morning to you all from the nightshift.
Quite a difficult set of links this time. I shall be amazed if any of you have got all four -
Atomic CONVERSION
Kensington PALACE
Harvest MOON
Happy HORIZON
Aquagility beat me again but her/his answer atomic conversion is wrong as atomic wasn't a link word. It must be energy conversion. Happy horizon is also wrong as the word to link is event and not happy which makes it horizon event. I must say I don't understand the links perhaps someone can explain
