I have seen this asked several times already but I can only see it answered as Swimming or swimsuit party but I don't really think it fits the "drenched" part of the clue. I think it should be more like "shower" party but this doesn't fit the number of letters. Has anyone else got a better idea?

Could it be swimming as in " swimming in booze" ? I see what you mean though it is a bit of strange connection.

the word 'swimming' can be used in the sense -

swimming in water .... not acually in a pool ...... but,say, due to a leak and the floor is covered in water--> drenched

faction = party

swimming party

(still not a great clue / there is a better answer!)
