Hip-hop/Trip-hop
Hi guys, I have always liked trip-hop and am slowly getting into hip-hop too and although I work with music I am struggling to find things I like that I havent heard so I need some suggestions please....
This is an example of what I like...
Dj Shadow
Aim - Really really like
Dj Format
Jurassic 5
Roots Manuva
I like a variety but I am not too keen on the real 'heavy' stuff
Please suggest away and I will listen to them at work and see what I think - am desperate for something new that I havent heard, Thanks.

Del tha funky homosapian,
(and his other guises in Deltron 3030 and The Heiroglyphics)
Lyrics Born,
Lateef the Truth Speaker,
Latryx,
The Coup,
Edan,
Gift of Gab (from Blackalicious)
Handsome Boy Modelling School,
J Dilla (the 'Donuts' Album)
MC Solaar,
Talib Kweli,
Breakestra (for the funk!)
The poets of rhythm,
prefuse 73,
The Maroons (in fact anything on the Quannum label)
RJD2,
The Roots,
Saian Supa Crew,
Quantic,
Tommy Guerrero,
Plus anything off the Ninja Tune Label and Tru thoughts label is always going to be great.
Does that give you a helping hand?

You're getting quite a list, just don't listen to them all at work - you'll get the sack!
Some good recommendations already, I'd definitely agree with Cut Chemist, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Quantic and The Roots.
I'd also recommend;
*Boca 45
*Edan the DJ
*The Fabric Live mixes by aim, DJ Format and The Herbaliser (and some others, can't remember though) are well worth a listen.
*Grand Central (Manchester based label, not a bad artist on there)
*Fat City Records (also in Manc but do mail order via website, v helpful guys - just e-mail them and ask them the same question, what they don't know about hip-hop isn't worth knowing!)
*Get yourself along to a Friends and Family club night (there's a link from Fat City Records website). They're ace.
P.S. aim is touring in Feb/March. His live shows are awesome, if he's coming to a venue near you drop everything and go and see him.
