I know a little about horses, but not enough to suggest a diet. What I do know is that there is not enough information here. Does the horse live in, out or what? is it rugged, stabled, what is the workload/exercise expected and which part of the world do you live ? (ie warm cold etc.) What are the horses teeth, digestion like? Best suggestion is to ask a local vet or specialist horse food supplier or check out websites for info, then check this info with someone knowledgable who knows your horse
Go to www.horseshoes.com/fhlpown/bb3 there is a regular laminitus discussion there .
I would suggest speaking to the Vet however with my friends Arab Pony it had restricted eating ie 2 hours eating then muzzled, but obviously this depends on your horses field management, we never put her out on the first flush of grass until the other pony's had eaten this off then post and taped an area safe for her to eat.

Just the usual stuff - low grade hay/oat straw in a double haynet; no hard feed except for a little alfalfa with oil.

Restrict grazing but under no circumstances restrict your horse to a stable - barn him or let out in a sand school.  You want to keep the blood moving.

Also speak to your vet - I believe there is a new theory that people are putting laminitics on wafarin to thin the blood.
