MM Links Game 2007 March [Week 1]
76 Answers
Good Morning. This is wickedtongue (Rob). Last month the Fickle Finger
of Fate picked me out to succeed Queen Barbara as the next MM link word setter.
If I can do half as well as QB I will be well chuffed. As you may guess, my
tongue is not all that wicked - but how wicked is my mind? That's what you have
to worry about!
I have set the link words today (inspired by my name - but no more clues. Some
of you lot are getting too good at double guessing).
I already have chosen my lists that will keep me going throughout the month of
March. My first four words to have their links predicted should appear below at
9.00am and you are invited to predict the missing links. I say "should" because
in the next 15 minutes ANYTHING could happen.
Most of you know the rules better than I, but recall that I have followed the
lead set by Barbara by adopting the same rule as crofter on word length.
Each of my chosen link words contains at least four letters and at most eight
letters. Stray outside this range and you will be wasting one of your attempts!
The competition will officially close on Sunday Evening at 7.00pm when
crofter will declare my selected words and then apply the same rules of
awarding points that have been applied during February.

As I'm up in Crofter country I decided to don the appropriate gear and try out some snippets from the Crofter phrase book on the locals. I greeted the first couple I met with "offcumdun" as mentioned by the master last week, the last I saw of them they were huddled in a telephone box trying to get through to emergency services, so I thought it best to put my snow shoes, pith helmet, shorts, tin of Bisto and the phrase book on E Bay in the hope that I can make enough for a tank of petrol to get me back home.
