I have a card saying I am a winner of this week's Sunday Times Puzzle (yes, puzzle and not crossword) and the prize is to follow when available.

What have I done? What have I won? I have only entered the crossword and have not won that so how could I be a winner?

Any know what this is about? I don't think it is a spoof but is some kind of advertising stunt?

First of all, congratulations. If you have won the Sunday Times crossword there will be a confirmation on the card of the date and crossword number, and it will be on a card with The Times heading. Failing this, I would just wait until something arrives through the post.
Congrats again.

No confirmation of the date and number and they are up to date with names of winners and I was not one of them. It was on a good quality stiff card with the Sunday Times heading.

My husband thinks I have won the Mephisto but I reackon is is some kind of advertising ploy!

I will indeed just have to wait and see.
I won the pen some years ago, and was notified by postcard saying that I had won the Sunday Times Puzzle. You have definitely won the crossword and will receive a pen shortly. Well done!!
The same happened to me a year or so ago. The results in last Sunday's paper were for Crossword 4211.You must have won Crossword 4212. .The pen will arrive by secure delivery.
Well done
i have received 2 of these postcards within the last month! they automatically send these out when you are winner of crossword or mephisto. on both occasions i have received the postcard & then the prize (bloomsbury dictionary & 20) before my name has appeared in the paper!! congratulations.

Thank you every one for your congratulations - it was posted today and I am a runner up in the Mephisto! Maybe one day I will win the Sunday Times as I have submitted week after week for about 18 years!

I certainly can't complain as I have won 6 other major crosswords at least once and have a fine collection of pends and dictionaries (not Bloomsbury though) to my name.

Good luck to everyone else.
