3 Banks
7. Adams
3 Iain Banks
4 Kenneth Grahame ( Gray Ham )
4. Kenneth Grahame
6 Lewis Carroll ( Car Roll )
2. Susanna Firth ( hr+fit)
5 Thomas Moore ( silly) Moo and Re as in Doh-Re-Me
1. Relentless Aaron (Aaron being part of Aaron's Rod) ?
1 Roald Dahl ( almost Dahlia )
I just spotted that No2 has been previously posted as

S Mr. Harper had a seizure - In which case

(F) Scott Fitzgerald - Gerald Harper being an English actor - but that doesn't explain the missing F
GetOverIt No2 reads H R Harper had a seizure, not MR.
It might be a typo by Fincham, but I based my answer on it being an H.
It's given as Mr in a previous post which is obviously from someone who has the same quiz.

I guess Fincham will have to recheck the clue to number 2.
Your answer is as good, if not better, than mine. I don't think the F matters too much as a lot of folks just refer to him as Scott Fitzgerald.

Hi Ont-Ice - what you you think about my suggestion for 1 Roald Dahl ?
Well, he's certainly more well-known than Relentless Aaron.
I think your answer is a darned good one and if I were Fincham I'd probably go with Dahl.
Cheers Ont-Ice and thanks for making me look at ( and solve - and post ) The Everyman Crossword which I hadn't started until your query the other night.

I got stuck in the upper left-hand corner 2D and 9A, but I don't post if from Canada, just do it 'cos I like UK crosswords.
It's 8:30pm here and I'm off to meet a friend at 9:00. Enjoy the rest of your evening/night - I don't know where you are.
Hope to 'see' you again.

It's currently 12.45 am - I'm up too late - having to get up for work at 7.30 am - enjoy your night - " see " you again soon !
