sarumite

I have just returned home to find the reason that sarumite had trouble delivering the Link Words this morning is that he had had his access suspended because he has been "acting against the Answerbank rules".
I would like to go on record as thanking him for his continued support in providing me with quiz questions for my local cricket club, for volunteering to replace me in the MM Links Games should I ever go AWOL, for his commitment to AB in the past in answering questions, for his infectious sense of humour but above all for being the complete gentleman.
If he is not reinstated, then I feel that AB will have lost a true ambassador of the highest quality.

Surely ED can see the difference!!!
All the best sarumite
Hope you get back soon

Hear hear! I have tried to find out why sarumite has been banned - it is not easily accessible from the site altho' similar posts have been sent..... Surely there is a difference between spamming or trolling and helping out on this site where several of our learned friends answer many questions in a short time. You have my full support!
I am absolutely gobsmacked!...and furious. Been out most of the day, only just read e-mail from S. This is just diabolical. I will personally e- mail the ed...hope others do also to support S and to complain. Sure no notice will be taken, but any suggestions to help one of our own...and I will gladly be involved. Hope he is back where he belongs soon!!!
Justice for Sarumite!!!
Justice for Sarumite!!!
I'm really cross and disappointed to hear that sarumite has been banned.
I understand the need for rules, but this particular one ( if it is the five minute rule ) seems to be applied in an arbitrary manner, and in sarumite's case, counterproductive to the
interests of the AB site.
A little accountability on the part of the AB editor would not go amiss.
I wholeheartedly agree with all that crofter has said, and hope to see him reinstated ASAP.

I think the editor read my comments on
http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Quizzes-and-Puz zles/Question382373.html
because I received the following email:-
'The penalty suspension you are referring to has always been in place. As I'm sure you will agree AB is a question & answer site & of course we all want to keep it that way-hence the penalty suspension is in place.
The reason behind the suspension is to stop users treating AB as a chat site;this is an automatic suspension and the editorial team unsuspends users on a regular basis.
You are clearly a respected and prominent AB user & obviously it would be a shame if you felt you had to move away because of the 5 minute rule.'
This was before I read that Sarumite had been suspended
although I did notice that a comprehensive answer he gave last night disappeared after a few minutes.
The whole situation is crazy if they cant tell the difference between the postings on Q & P and some of the rubbish on the other topics.

Just read K's post - if AB is not a 'chat site' - what is it? We all post questions or answers and then have a bit of a 'chat' with the other answerers or posters. We are all old friends now so nothing wrong with a bit of catching up when we get on esp if some of us are occasional users owing to work and life pressures but very grateful to our friends on AB for their help.
Just had an e-mail from Sarumite, told him we were all supporting him. He said he has felt a bit lost today not being able to join us....this has made me even angrier.
I know he won't mind me telling you all, some of you know already from his earlier posts, S loyally and devotedly cares for his elderly disabled mother, and we are just as important to him as he is to us. He is a wonderful person, and I am furious! ...rant over!
Sarumite is respected and cared for on here..and needed, they'd better sort this soon!!!
I totally agree with all you have all written, and K I hope I never cause you to be suspended during our Sunday night sessions...I would be upset. Maybe I'd better cool it?
