I'm stuck in LH bottom corner. I've Googled booze-cruise and found that it's a UK TV show. Will someone please give me some info about this and perhaps I can come up with the answer to 44A.

But in the thick of what, dear friend. Certainly not anything that would warrant another trip to Coventry. :-)
I never did get any replies from the Ed. Not to my email and not to my posting on the AB Editor's blog.
We're all still groping in the dark looking for the matches.

This 5-hour time difference is for the birds. You've just answered me and now I must sign off as it's 5:30pm here and time for supper. I'll be back in about an hour, but by that time most folks are already in bed. Hey Ho.
Just remember, no nonsense this weekend. :-)

I am no expert on Chambers ...

I was recently given a copy of

The Chambers Dictionary 2003 edition reprint 2005 this edition first published 2003 thumb index

ISBN 00550 101055

only 1825 pages!!

Hello again Ont-ice, I am still on the loose!!

I purchased my first Chambers a few months ago .. and I'm fairly certain it is the latest edition (i.e.10th edition .. 2006).
Number of pages now 1839 !! Cost then in UK was 35.

Whilst this is fairly costly, I sometimes wonder how I managed previously without one.

Kind regards (S)
Ont-ice, yes, sarumite's 10th edition is the latest. 35 but 21 from Amazon + free delivery (at least in UK).

I used to think I could manage without it - I was wrong!
Cor .. I wuz robbed !! ;0)
Hi, sarumite. Have you followed all this about a new thread opened (as an emergency back-stop, I think) by mazie on AnswerBack?

I have registered but can make no contact when I sign on. We need a Tutorial. Any idea who knows about it?

Good Morning, Gentlemen
Thank you all very much for your advice re Chambers. I think I will have to buy it from Amazon as I can't find one in the local bookstores. Amazing, but true. Perhaps if I asked them to order they would do so.
Sarumite. I did/do use the Chambers site you gave me when looking for a word, but what I don't like about that site is that when a word is given and I'm not sure if it is correct and I enter it in the 'dictionary' space in the above right-hand corner, nine times out of ten the answer comes back -' word not found.' I then have to check in other dictionaries, not Chambers, to find the meaning. Would the meaning be shown in the 'printed' Chambers?
Busy day today so may not be back on until after you lot are in bed, but will check for replies.
Thanks O-ice
Yes I have joined Aqua .. here is the link

It's Mazie who is running the show.
I think you would find any of these words from on-line chambers in the printed edition Ont-ice.
Aquagility .. I have also been given the following link by Mazie, sometimes the msn sites play up, so try tomorrow morning again if it doesn't work today.

Thanks, I'll try again.
No good. Each time I try to sign in a message tells me I've tried too often.

This is, by definition, a self-perpetuating problem!
