Hi Sarumite, Struggling with this crossword as you said very challenging! This is my first attempt and am having trouble finding 36a , can you help please? Have you finished it?
Hi Laney, sorry for delay I had been seconded to other duties temporarily. Yes, I have finished except for uncertainty on 45across.
36a is Sublanceolate which as Aquagliity says is 13 letters.
It is not shown in my chambers in expected position, but you can find it without the Sub prefix.
By all means let us know if you would like futher assistance or pointers. ;0)
Thank you Aquagility and Sarumite for your help,as I haven't a Chambers (yet) I was certainly struggling.
As for 4 down my husband, who is biologist, is very dubious.
The answer that I have appears to fit the dictionary definition, but I am no expert in the field. Have you got the solution (suspect or otherwise) or would you like more details?
Good morning, sarumite. Knew you were on parade earlier but thought you might have gone back to bed!
Still struggling with my Generalist, six left to find, plus 45a for which I think I have the first six letters. 32d might get me going again, please.
Good morning fellow reprobate .. for 32d I think it is necessary to think in terms of the spine of a leaf or feather and I have "Rachidial".
On my final unsolved clue I have ?O?S?E?E?O and think an italian word is required.
Until I am able to confirm 45a I cannot be certain of 35d, but the answer I have for 35d fits the clue and all letters from other answers i.e. ?E?C?I??
Hi again (I am supposed to be doing the housework!)
but I am hooked on this wicked crossword! I have the same as you S for 32d but would like 4d please before I tear my hair out, then I must log off and get going.
Hi Laney - know the feeling well, but glad you're enjoying it.
Hi guys, hope you're both still around - I've come to a full stop and am looking for heeeeeellllppppp please, with 16a, needless to say, confirmation for 21A, and more help with 35d and 45a and would be happy to hear from anyone
Laney, I should be doing the shopping, but this is far more interesting, and as you say this crossword is addictive.
You are looking for Aponeuroses for 4d which is the plural form of Aponeurosis. Following online discussions with lector yesterday we considered the plural form to be more in line with given clue.
Hi Steff, it's difficult to provide a pointer for 16a other than to say it has Scottish roots, but you have probably sussed that already. So will have to provide answer which is Poortith.
For 21a the answer simply relates to the reaction to something that you appreciate! Hope this helps.
For 35d my answer begins with a Z but until I am able to confirm 45a can't be certain.
thanks, sarumite - your assumption with 16a was correct,
and you've confirmed 21a. have found 35d and agree with you - leaves only 45a and my Italian's as bad as my Scots !!
plus I don't possess a Chambers, wish I did !!
I was thinking along the same lines as AQ for this - trist..... ??
