Thanks very much. Just assumed as Poverty in Peebles began with P that 45 across would begin with M. Silly me!!
Will now go and search - have tried OneLook on-line dictionary and it's not in there so Chambers here I come.
If you need further help on this one, it's towards the end of following thread. 45a was also the last one for me and gave me problems because I had Zecchino instead of its variant Zecchine for 35d.

The last one I'm stuck with is 13 ac which doesn't seem to be a problem for anyone. I thought at first it was Hairy Mollie which was a caterpillar I came across in Ireland but that won't work as have a B as 4th letter and T as 6th of 2nd word. Clue is Caterpillar of tiger-moth. Is it Hairy Hobbit???
I've been accused of being too quick on the trigger, jenniferd, so I won't spell it out. It's tricky - two possible solutions. but ask if you want the answer(s).
jenniferd you're right with Hairy but second word is WOUBIT. In Chambers it is only shown under the W listings. ☺
Sorry Aqua, our paths have crossed .. Hopefully not en route to the tower !!

Thanks both. I was a bit quick coming back with a thank-you and prompt in a later post. As if you wouldn't check this post again????!!!! Must rush out now to my driving job or will be late for pick-up.
13a) Hairy Woubit / Hairy Woobut

both are in Chambers ... the word woubit is given first with woout, oubit and oobit as alternatives.... then Hairy Woubit is listed as ahairy caterpillar, esp one of a tiger moth; applied derodatively to a person, ofetn implying smallnes and shabbiness.

hi Aquagility .... I am typing slowly too! :-)

jenniferd - I am not sure if you have or have not got 45a) now ....

if not, then just put your letters into this solver ...
