A friend of mine has just moved to London SW6 and has given me the following clues to guess, I assume, his exact location eg name of building I suppose.

All he has said is he lives "on the river in an artist's building, the gentleman concerned having often been seen around churches. He did a little work on a famous sailor who conducted his business from Bexley."

The answer is two words 4,5 so maybe something House or Lodge. It must be in the Fulham area overlooking the Thames.

And he's not even offering a prize!!!

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

I would think the Bexley refers to Ted Heath
would agree the conductor and sailor references also fit with Edward Heath

Great start. Thanks to both of you! I'll see if I can find out who painted portraits of Ted Heath then....

I think I'm going to have to "give in" on this one. Have searched all artists who painted portraits of Ted Heath and can't find any connection with SW6 and none have surnames with four letters. Same for sculptors and biographers!

You know how distracted you can get and before you know it, it's lunchtime and all you've done is research a puzzle/crossword! Grrrr.....
When you find out, please let me know before I start gibbering!
Thanks.J
