Question for naomi24
21 Answers
I have completed my group therapy. How are you doing?
My problem now starts. I always solve all 100 (apart from the very early years when once won the 50 prize with only 981/2!). But in the sheer tedium of copying my answers from my rough sheets onto the entry form I sometimes make a stupid slip of the pen, so I get 991/2. (Why has my keyboard no symbol for 'half'?)
Please let me know how you're doing.

Kettledrum , with me it's a question of trial and error starting at 100 =d
101=e
201=╔
245=
99=c
98=b
97=a
96=`
95=_
254=■
I just play around with them when I have nothing better to do , don't know if a list exists . Will have a google to see if there is now !
Regards

Good evening Chakka - goodness, this looks technical!
I finished at Easter, but I'm not entirely happy with one of my answers. I think it's right, but nevertheless it's very odd for these question setters. I know what you mean about writing the final sheets out. I scored ninety-nine and a half (can't do all this clever stuff with the keyboard!) once because I'd spelt someone's name incorrectly - put an 'a' instead of an 'e' or something like that. It could be 99 this time if my answer to the question I mentioned is wrong!
Good luck with it anyway. Please let me know how you get on. Do you know of any other quizzes like this to fill in the space between now and the next Rainbow?

Very many thanks to all you kind people. Fascinating as it will be to play with ALT, it does sem odd that the typewriter keyboards that I bashed for years always had a 'half' key on them but the much more sophisticated and lavish computer keyboard hasn't. Anyway, thanks again.
The least I can do is give Goofy a hint about No 19, and here it is:
Think of what it's called when people take their shoes and socks off and roll up their trousers and wade in the shallows. Then look up its other meaning.
naomi, which one is bothering you? I had a couple of answers I wasn't satisfied with and then realised they were wrong. I know you won't want me to give you the answer to your troublesome one but I'd love to know which it is.

Hello Chakka, I don't mind giving you the answer to my doubtful question, but I'm not sure other people will want to read it and perhaps spoil their enjoyment of the quiz. I'll give you a hint. It's question 67 - and my answer includes part of the question, which I find very odd indeed so perhaps I'm wrong. I'd appreciate knowing what you think.
I've a question to ask if you don't mind. Why aren't you posting on R&S any more? Is there something wrong?

It's a weird one that, naomi, in that you don't believe it when you've got it. If your answer means 'an entire number' and is an everyday expression in the form T-- - L-- -, then you have it. A modern Chambers will confirm it as a group of horses trotted out for exercise, but some older Chambers don't have it.
As to my bowing out from R&S, I won't hi-jack this site to explain. It's really not important, but if you want to re-ask the question on R&S I'd be delighted to answer..
