I'm new to AB, but have read others' contributions with admiration and gratitude. I am clearly stupid, however, because nobody seems to have sought help with Q85, with which I am stuck.

There are almost too many potential avenues here, and I cannot find a way into this one. Any tips or hints?
Aren't these wonderful puzzles? Many hours/days of fun, and collaboration with fellow travellers. BB.

Now I have to go home and check Chambers for No 26 - which I think is a term used by the Clerk of the Course (or similar) at the starting tape - as per tomorrow's Grand National.
