Hi :o)
Just a couple more questions on be half of my Auntie (she doesn't have the internet) who is taking part in a friends mini quiz to raise money for cancer research.
- What famous London landmark do runners pass at 6 miles in the marathon?
- What sport do winners never cross the finish line?
Last one is a bit cryptic but will prob be obvious when someone says lol
Thank you all for your help :o)

I'm a she :o) and I did google the 6 mile landmark bit and it didn't come up with anything inparticular (wasn't even a mention of the cutty sark) so intead of trawling trying to find the answer I asked on here hoping someone would know as that is what this site is for.
I appreciate everyone's help thank you :o)

Ok, but I am sorry I see no point in guessing answers when there is a factual answer to the question. Either an answer is right or it is not. By guessing a person has obligated another to either give the correct answer or to provide proof that his/her answer is correct.
On cryptic crosswords, one may provide a question mark at the end of a guess to show that this may be correct but one cannot see why at that time - that is fair enough, of course - but on a question of fact, what good can guessing do?
I am not getting at you geo0939 but I just don't see how the orginal questioner can gain by guesses on factual questions.

Well Towncrier you've certainly put me in my place. I suggested 'tug of war' for the sport but did put question mark. I had feeling I had heard similar question before and that was the answer.I do find this kind of comment stops you, well me anyway, from suggesting possible answers. Will think twice before I jump in again.
