London Cheap
Hi there we go down to London maybe once a year and it always costs the earth - accomodation and travel so far have been mighty cheap - which I am happy about. But we would like to visit London Zoo, the Aquarium, Natural History Museum etc... and the gate prices are really high - im sure they get higher by the year. I have found a website which offers 2for1 entry with a rail ticket but we obviously couldnt fit everything into one day - as the ticket for rail travel has to be presented on that date for the entry. Any other great websites or ideas to save us some cash - we are two adults. Thanks.

The London Pass is expensive but, if you really want to do a lot of sightseeing, it might save you some money:

Entry to all of the major national museums and art galleries (with the exception of certain special exhibitions) is now free. That includes the Natural History Museum. You can spend an entire day, in South Kensington, visiting the NHM (don't miss the moving dinosaurs), the Science Museum (great for 'big kids'!) and the V&A (utterly wind-blowing), all for free.
You can get 10% off London Zoo tickets by booking online:

There's 20% off admission to the London Aquarium (and many other attractions, such as St Paul's Cathedral) with a free code from SmartSave:

However, for many attractions, you need to take another look at the 2-for-1 rail offers. These offers are not just valid for the day on which a ticket is issued. They're available throughout the validity of the ticket. This is from the FAQs on National Rail's 'Days Out' website:
"If you have a valid rail ticket that is valid for more than one day e.g. Saver return to London valid for one month on the return journey, you can use this to visit an attraction within that same one month period of return travel validity."

The list of 2-for-1 offers, with this promotion, starts here:
http://www.daysoutguide.co.uk/Attractions.aspx ?WithOffers2=True
(That's just the first page out of 9. Click the link at the bottom of the page to see more offers).
The current rail 2-for-1 offer is shown as finishing on 3rd June. However, I used to run a railway station and I know that as soon as one offer period ended, another one would start. (So, if you're travelling later in the year, you should still find similar offers on that website).
