Initials relating to transport or movement

I previously posted this on the Riddles section, but am now listing it here.

I'm doing my villages' Christian Aid comp. It is open to groups as well as individuals, so I'm treating my friends in 'answerbank' as my group! There were nearly 60 questions to start with, and now with grateful help, I'm down to the last ten.

If I win the sole prize of �20.00 I promise to donate it straight back to Christian Aid. It's just that I wouldn't like to see the answers I've achieved go to waste. This seems to be a particularly difficult competition. Well it is to me, my brain hurts!

The answers they're looking for relate to transport or movement.

All the following with the exception of two were not on my original posted list.

The organisers have given us 'the' 'a' 'an' '&' where necessary.

I think 'The L O the LR' could be:
The loneliness of the long distance runner. OK - there's no 'D' in the clue, but I'm wondering if this a typo by the comp organiser. What do you think?

If it is correct I only need the following four answers:-

Any further help before I hand in my answers on Friday would be gratefully received.

I have a further clue to this one stating that it's the first letter 'B' that specifically refers to transport or movement.

I think I've now got an answer for 'The D & C O a L O'

'The driver & conductor of a London Omnibus'

It's a line from a song by Flanders and Swann.

But that means I'm still looking for the final three answers:

As I said, all answers relate to Transport or Movement, particularly the Letter C in the first of these three.
In the second one it's the letter G. In the last one it's the first letter B.

I'm desperate for answers by tomorrow (Fri) evening at the latest!
