Is there really a product that works on black mould, or will I have to replace sealant that is only 18 months old .I have a walk in shower . Desperate for help please
Bleach will remove most of it. wipe on the domestos then leave it for half an hour. after this rinse it while scrubbing with a nail brush. repeat if necessary. then treat with mould inhibitor.
Once you have got rid of it, the key thing is to make sure that the shower dries off between uses, flop the curtain over the rail or leave the door open, air out bathroom etc.
Also I find that addind a little washing up liquid to the bleach helps it to penetrate the little nooks and crannies in the filler
I use a product called Mould and Mildew Remover by Dettox, it's in a green spray gun bottle. It's brilliant stuff. Works instantly in most cases but if the mould is particulalry bad, leave it on for five minutes first then wipe it off.
Many thanks to all who took time to answer. Detox Mould remover worked a treat although had to apply 5 times as was very bad. Compleatly gone now
Thanks again
I used "Brilliant" Tile Grout Whitener to get rid of mould and stains on the tile grout and tried it on the sealant as well and it transformed the shower like new. It also had a mildew repellant but usually do it every 6 months or so.
