Where to caravan in France
Hi, we have been caravanning in UK for many years now, but are very keen to go to France this year towards end of summer school holiday. We are members of Caravan club and have their Caravan Euro 1 book, but trying to find somewhere without recommendation is difficult. For those caravanners amongst you we are a CL type of family preferring a field on a farm with little to no facilities and then exploring countryside and historic places of interest than large sites with loads of facilities and near beaches. We are looking for someone mid-south france (limousin/auvergne). Can anyone recommend CL type site in that area? Would really appreciate any recommendations.

nevertheless they are well away from large towns and still relatively small by French standards, here they are for what they're worth:-

near the medieval town of rocamadour, the gouffre padirac showcave and within the causses du quercy regional park

at Nant in the Grandes Causses, not far from Millau and the Gorges du Tarn, Dargilan, Chaos de Montpellier and Roquefort.

This one is rather pretty

It does have the modern caravan type holiday homes on it but no longer has Keycamp or Eurocamp using it. Has basic facilities on site, is quiet, the town is small with a small supermarket, loads to do walking wise and has a very friendly, lovely owner
Near the river and train stations but rarely can you hear trains or barges.
