Following a slightly delayed launch at 09.01, ALL FOUR links were spotted by 09.03 (a world record?). Bonus points were flying like flies around shtuff that flies fly round!
How did Grenmus do? Pipped at the post, Im afraid ~ like so many in the past. Several ABers drew level on points, but none could match the massive haul of FIVE points that came to Grenmus last week. In the case of a tie, the Big Hitter would get the nod! [Rule 3.2; subsection (b)]. So who was it that romped home! Read on!
First blood went tobridgenut for BOOT CAMP followed briskly by Christiana, freebie 2, JMR27, Aquagility & FoxLee, all of whom earn bonus points for the same BOOT CAMP! Theres more! Christiana also struck gold (or pearl) strutting in to strains of the LAMBETH WALK! She was only the first of a string of double hitters earning FOUR points each.
In short time, came JMR27 with HILL BILLY; and Aquagility with his MUD LARK. All these were on top of their BOOT CAMPS (predicted within two minutes of bridgenut). Unfortunately, FoxLee fell a little outside this time interval and qualified for only THREE of these four points!

In fact, there were two TRIPLE hitters in wickedtongue & gen2. For many it was too little too late although JMR27 & wickedtongue were able to draw level with Grenmus! Not so for gen2 who had been building up a running total of FOUR points and now has SEVEN POINTS!!
I therefore declare gen2 as the MM Links Champion for May 2007 and setter of the Links for June 2007!

In accordance with tradition, next week will be the first week of the reign of our new champion gen2 who should now contact me by e-mail at the following address: <[email protected]> and we can start to prepare for a fresh game.
My sincere thanks go to the Benevolent Baron Burgess for such an entertaining month. Theres even more to come during next month and beyond! Weve now had FOUR superb setters, all of whom began petrified and ended up enthralled.
Until next week, this is crofter signing off for another month.
LONG LIVE THE SPIRIT OF THE MM LINKERS!! :o)
Congratulations to Gen2. (I think he's away for the weekend so may not be aware that he is Top Gun).
As usual the Ont-ices failed miserably and are still in the running for the boobie prize.
Thanks Alan for some tough ones. You did good :-)
To Crofter, we tip our hats once again.
Well done to everyone who managed to score at all - Alan gave us too many choices and of course a few of us picked the wrong ones. C'est la vie!

Thanks Burgess for some great links this month--although I think I scored zero for the whole month!!! I thought I was on your wavelength with fork handles ( a couple of weeks ago) and Burgesss hill (this week)---I have now learned not to second guess the setters.
Good luck to gen_2 on your reign--one day, I will be back!
