Andy Green holds the land speed record, but I don't know if he is a Scot.

3. The cross of Lorraine was a symbol of Joan of Arc, maybe its named after her?
This site gives a whole difference meaning to Lorraine stating that it may be a corruptiion of Soup a la reine in which case it would be named after the queen of England in the Regency period.
