Thanks for those. I was stuck too. Maybe it's just me, but I had been struggling with today's puzzle somewhat more than usual. I always thought that BHINDI was a small red circle which Hindu women put in the middle of their foreheads, between the eyes, so I would never have thought of that as a name for "lady's fingers". I thought "lady's fingers" were OKRA. Very confusing. And as for XYSTOI, what can I say? A wonderful word which I've never heard of (must remember that for scrabble games!).
Re discussion over the meaning(s) of BHINDI an Indian cookery book I have actually spells the Indian equivalent of OKRA BHENDI not BHINDI
