Mou - Scottish for mouth Mount minus NT
Question Author
Thanks! was toying with mou but have a useless dictionary so couldn't verify the answer. Next week will stick to the ordinary cryptic puzzle, but you have to stretch yourself a bit sometime. Going to check out the science questions to try to make myself feel clever again .....
You need a Chambers ! I've recently bought a CD-Rom version, which only cost a tenner, and is easier to search than the print version.

Chambers seems to be the dictionary of choice amongst my new found crypticholics. Will get one ASAP, maybe have more success in the future. What about a recommended thesaurus? Any suggestions?
Again, I use Chambers, I picked one up in a bargain book shop , for 1.99 or 2.99 if I remember right. Looking at the back, its retail full price is 5.99
