MM & KM Links Games in August

Tomorrow will bring the first day in the reign of Queen Alibobs and her success was just a matter of time. She has been among the first entrants for so long and I am delighted to see her efforts rewarded. I note that we are close to establishing a female dominance in the latest sequence of winners, and I am aware that Pauline is back in contention!

See posting below for her GREAT new quiz, set by a GREAT compiler and proceeds for a GREAT cause. Some clues are designed to make you laugh, but some will have you tearing out your hair! It's intentional!

For anyone new to the Link games, now is a good time to start since tomorrow brings the start of two brand new Links games ~ MM and KM! The first to kick off is KM at about 7.30-ish tomorrow morning. It is organised by seekeerz all the way from Oz. The idea is to try to predict the link words of Herculis (as many hits as possible and as early as possible).

This is followed at 9.00 by the MM Game, where the links are selected by Alibobs , who was last month's MM Champion (with a score for the month of July of EIGHT points)! Games close at appropriate times on Sunday and all entries are scored!

About 50 ABers enter each week and it's just a bit of harmless fun!

There will be �50 set aside for FOUR prizes covering all categories of entrant, since everyone�s effort is valued! There will be a First Prize (�20) and a Second Prize (�10) drawn at random from those entrants with top scores. There will also be a Median Prize (�10) drawn at random from those attaining an average score and a Quartile Prize (�10) drawn at random from those whose score is below the average. This allocation of prizes is to encourage incomplete attempts at the Quiz to be submitted.

Pauline I can now be considered a lifelong member of the Free fall club, as I've not scored a single point for weeks ... don't think I'm on anybody's wavelength!!

And how on earth does anybody expect me to predict what a woman is going to come up with ... there's absolutely no chance ... say one thing .. mean another, I give up now!!

Hello again, back after a long phone call and nothing left to consume by the sound of it.

Yes, Pauline, I'm back in Portugal. I was in and out of Spain for a while holidaying with one of my sons, but he returned to England on Tuesday.

Gen 2 - you're right, on both counts. The links will never be the same and, of course, this month I can't really be in contention. But yes, looking forward to going back to predictions. Trouble is a little knowledge is a dangerous thing and I fear that, like you, I will now be more incined to waste time trying to cover all the angles.
