previously had help with this one, but the answer disappeared. Can anyone confirm where the perimeter entry should begin, and also that 19a is LINOTILE and 16d is SILENT? thanks as ever
Hi, Can't help with the perimeter as yet, still struggling with the 'beast' myself. I have linotile. At first I tried tinsel for the other one but also thought it must be 'silent' to fit in with my answer for 22. Have to say I'm not certain, but that's where I'm at at the moment.
can help with the perimeter - Novalis helped me with it last night, so shout if you want to know what it is. I won't post it as it wasn't me that worked it out and I can't take the credit! Also don't want to spoil anyone's fun.
Don't know what happened to my previous posting -- Also tried this morning on earlier thread and taht didn't get through.
Silent is right ( silent film )
In reply to Crofter 20d is one of the eight and is linked with 6d.
well met, Novalis. Can you confrim 4d as orectic, 11a as ocher and 15a as ciao? My confidence is very low on this one, since the only way I can fit the perimeter in is by starting it in an odd place (not the corner!). Help much needed! Thanks
HI, I have orectic and ciao and suspect the other one is ocher. I quite agree - my confidence is not high on it either. No doubt Novalis will confirm or deny in due course.
oh no. Now I'm very confused. Cell 8? that really messes up my answers. I also had 6d as the surname and 20d as the forename as one of the actors you mentioned, Novalis, so I thought I was on the right track. This is with the perimeter starting clockwise in the first cell of the second row. What do I do?
Orbed is right ( or = yellow/heraldic bed = bottom )and the actors' names are entered as a jumble - no doubt to represent the event which the films portray.
aha! so this means that 1d would be another of those 8 clues, right? Starting to get the picture, and it was a real stab in the dark with ocher for 11a - I was getting to the clutching at straws point.

id is not another of those clues. If you want to see what all eight are they are on the previous thread which you launched yesterday.
id definition is "Box"
phew! I had the perimeter starting in cell 9, so all is well. However, grid is still depressingly blank so will come back for more help no doubt. Thanks all.
