Is Simply Red just Mick Hucknall, Mick Hucknall and the same musicians, or Mick Hucknall and differing session musicians?

The line up has changed constantly over the years. Basically it's Mick Hucknall and whoever he wants in the band.

Not uncommon, i.e. Aztec Camera was Roddy Frame, Steely Dan is Becker and Fagen, etc etc

I think they started as a band with Mick having a publishing deal on his own as the main songwriter but over the years he chipped away at them even ditching one band member for not dancing enough as he played the trombone. Still dull as ditchwater whoever plays on the dross. Just my opinion of course.

Simply Red are a fat, ugly, ginger bloke who can't be ar5ed writing songs any more so he just covers other peoples.

Simply Red are as far as I know Crystal Tips and whoever he is getting on with that week. Read the unauthorised biography on him.

Thanks for your answers! A friend of mine has a fat ginger tom called Hucknall....it always raises a smile when I think of him!
