both awful - Gary Rhodes would put you off eating any dinner, and G.R is a thug in a pinny.
Nigella is great (sorry, its a girl thing) Delia smith is the DEVIL and Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall (sp?) is my future husband - we shall bake pigs in pots and make lots of jam together and its going to be lovely.
Are you being serious? Gordon Ramsay is one of the top chefs in the world, one of the very few to have been awarded 3 Michelin stars twice. No other British chef comes even close to him (Marco Pierre White possibly could but he's retired from the kitchen now). That's not to decry Gary Rhodes who's a perfectly good chef but we're talking about Arsenal versus , say, Birmingham City here.
When we (unfortunately) paid to see a cooking demonstration by Gary Rhodes at one of the BBC food & drinks exhibitions, he spent 15 minutes twirling around in his black and white checked 'kilt', 5 minutes chatting to a fan in the crowd and 10 minutes cooking. Waste of time and money. GR may be a bit surly but I would much rather watch him cook.
Gary Rhodes - I wouldn't waste my time watching him. gordon Ramsey, OK maybe. My favourite chef to watch is the lass from The Best - Sylvania (I think that's hoe to spell it) She makes quick, easy and interesting things that real people want to eat and have time to make.
gary rhodes makes me wanna wash myself. and not in a good way. he's so waxy and horrid! gordon is fantastic - he only gets angry because he has very high standards and often works with fools! i HATE nigella - she's an average cook (anyone can do what she does), people only like her for her 'food porn'. delia is ok but too old fashioned and mumsy for me. as for hugh - i've heard he is a slimy old man, if i wrote anything more it would be libellious! heston blumenthal is great and i like rick stein too. my fave is nigel slater though i think. his autobiography 'toast' is great if you enjoy reading about food. on that note anthony bordain (sp?) has written 2 books about food/being a chef which are fantastic and hilarious, 'kitchen confidential' was his first can't remember the title of the other... read them! xx
Gary Rhodes encourages paint to dry quicker. Gordon Ramsey - a bit of a git but respect due as he can swear in English AND French at his minions. Sorry to confess but i am a Jamie Oliver fan. (Nigella can't cook for toffee)
Are you asking whos is the better TV Chef of who is the better Chef? which I reckon are two different things. Gordon Ramsey is in now way a TV chef but is without doubt one of the finest chefs in the UK, Gary Rhodes is also a fine chef, but also a decent TV chef, that you can learn a great deal from if you like like his style, so I reckon that Ramsey is the best chef of the two and Rhodes is the best TV chet of the two though not the best TV chef.
I agree with Tat on Gary Rhodes - he's slimy and irritating and horrid. Why does he always have to kiss his fingers and make those stupid noises!!!!???? It makes my flesh crawl just thinking about him. I much prefer Gordon, although I do wonder if he's just swearing to sound all cool and street.
