See from previous post, an answer is given as Pernod to the question, "Drink with English sailors in case" I fail to understand although the letters, pernod, do fit my crossword!

Pernod is a drink .
POD is a case ..as in a pea pod an outer case on something
E is English ..RN is Royal Navy (sailors ) The English sailors are in the case ..the pod ..P(E) (RN ) OD
