What is this "timeout expired" rubbish from Microsoft

Most stuff from Microsoft is rubbish, so could you please be more specific in posing your question? This forum is for quizzes and puzzles.

I Was peaceably looking through columns of questions relating to crosswords, tried to move to next page, and got message from microsoft, saying timeout expired error So-and-so. (I forget number since it meant nothing to me) There was also something about "server" which I suppose is some computer device.
I thought possibly answerbank had not paid their bills to Mr Gates's empire.
After some messing about I got where i wanted, but the site is very slow today. My kit is not too bad. I use tiscali as my provider. Perhaps they haven't paid a bil...

Not just you Jack ..I keep getting the same message from time to time and have had to resubmit answers or just give up !
Nothing to do with your equipment
We have NTL or Virgin as they are now and fairly fast broadband .This often happens on here . It's a fault on AB somewhere .
Other sites I have visited today all work perfectly well.

Thanks, Shaneystar. I get irrationally annoyed when computers take into their heads, or whatever passes for heads, and send messages thwarting my perfectly simple requests.
I'm grateful to know there are problems elsewhere, and its not a personal vendetta being practised by some sinister character !
