16d Girl is fat - tons to be shed ! (3)
Hint ... Think of a 4 letter word (noun) for fat ....then shed the 't' (tons) and you are left with a girl (girl's name)
27a Old lover embraced by girl - a bit on the side? (6)
Hint....Think of a 2-letter word for an old lover ....put a 4-letter girl's name round it (embrace), ... the answer is a (extra) bit added onto the side of something.
We can't help unless we know what the question is. Good luck with solving these 2 on your own.
