This is a cryptic question to find the end part of a treasure hunt. Its not a crossword clue and we have no letters in the answer. The question is:

The name 'Wyre' holds two cryptic clues. Search within the the word and it also rhymes with...??

We are absolutely lost with this. Any help that can be given would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

Wow, that is a hard one! Good luck with it. The only things I can see in the clue Wyre, is two words you can make that also rhyme. Wry and Rye. Is that any help?
Uhhh, my brain hurts...
Wyre sounds like "Why're (Why are) & "Why a"...??
The only place my AA book has is Wyre Piddle (Worcs) - which rhymes with "Why a riddle" - now I know I'm losing it...
This one has had me thinking all day! The only other thing I can come up with is Wyre rhymes with Choir (could it be in a church?) and using the letter in the word wyre, as an anagram is ewry (which is a place where ewers were kept, a ewer is an open vessel with a spout for pouring). Could it be something hidden in a vessel in a church?

Thanks for your help. I think TheWinner is on the right lines. The final clue to finding what is hidden did take us to a church. Myself and the team will venture back and have another search. Will report back. Thanks once again.
Don't forget to let us all know!
Hi Reddevil1976, remember me saying that an anagram of Wyre gave ewry which is where ewers are kept, and a ewer is an open vessel with spout? Well, I had another think, and the word ewry, also rhymes with BREWERY. Could the clue be in a jug (or vessel) in a brewery? (or pub?).

Hiya guys!

So far no success with this one. The only thing new that we know is that what we are looking for is around a church. We think also that 'Wyre' is an anagram of 'ewry'. This means that we must find words which rhyme with ewry to satisfy the second half of the puzzle so as to arrive at the answer. I can say that out of 24 teams 0 have found what is being sought. Its not quite back to the drawing board time but its close. Thanks for your help.
