Race related attack
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles /news/news.html?in_article_id=483974&in_page_i d=1770
The kid in the article was in the wrong here but he didn't deserve a beating with a metal bar. What the hell is wrong with the police when they question a 10 year old kid for inciting racial hatred? He should get a caution at the most and his parents should talk to him about getting along with other races. I can understand why his mum is so angry,if someone did this to my 10 year old I would be livid!!!

If this were a British woman who'd taken the law into her own hands they'd all be on here praising the vigilante action and yelling "reclaim the streets".
No excuse for attacking someone with an iron bar - we shouldn't support that sort of thing whatever the nationalities involved.

On Saturday, one week after the alleged assault, two teenage girls were arrested for throwing stones at and abusing a Slovakian man just yards from the school.
So it'd have been OK if she'd have attcked them?
There's obviously a lot of trouble in this area and it sounds as if the local kids have got the idea that it's ok to be little racist thugs.
I reckon the Police have decided to try to shock them out of it before then turn into big racist thugs.
Tet's hope it works eh?

I agree the child'd behaviour was wrong,I have already said so twice, that isn't the point i'm trying to make.I can't understand why the police are questioning him on "inciting racial hatred". The race card gets played far too often these days by people who are trying to get out of being prosecuted for their own actions. The kid obviously needs discipline but if they play the race card here the are he lives in is going to boil over into riots. If I was to beat a kid with an iron bar I would be locked up on remand by now.
It says could be charged.
So some journalist has asked the pollice "could he be charged with inciting racial hatred" and the police said "yes I suppose he could"
It's an example of the police being naive in dealing with the press
I think there's clearly high racial tensions in the area though and this sort of trash reporting is a great example of the Mail trying desperately to pour petrol on the embers. It's clearly designed to whip up emotions.
Frankly I think the editor of the Mail should be charged - it's pretty irresponsible

Going to sound cruel here, but as I was reading the article a mental picture grew of what this kid's mum looked like. I was picturing the average Jeremy Kyle audience member...and lo and behold, as I scanned the article, and her picture came up...
Attacking a kid with an iron bar is over the top, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if the 'naughty little scamp' was using language a lot stronger than 'go back home'.

Yep he was wrong for doing what he did but the woman needs a few lessons in human relations herself. What sort of picture has she painted of her people to this lad by doing this. He will see a violent, nasty group of poeple who can't see his behaviour for what it is, just words that can be ignored by better minded individuals.
"I came running out of the house and saw him lying in a pool of blood."
Strange that in these reports there is no mention of a visit to the hospital. If he was beat about the head with an iron bar, then you would expect X-rays to be taken and a several days in hospital under observation, yet the pesky little chimp seems to be revelling in all the attention from the papers.

Without a doubt it was way over the top but I entirely blame his parents. Where else does a 10 year get ideas to shout to a Slovakian woman to "go back to your own country"? I doubt a caution would achieve anything other than making him martyr. What are the incidences of racial abuse amongst children? Its idiots raising idiots all over the country.
I've come to the conclusion that we (the proverbial) are acting just as the adults of decades gone by are
Rock and roll was going be the end of civilised country and punks were going to take over the world and destroy it - it didn't happen!
Hoddies and thugs are just the 'new' menice, it will be something else in ten year time and we'll be worrying about thet too!

No one is born racist, parents and peers make people that way, and it would seem the school is largely responsible in this case. If you are going to take such a large influx of immigrant children into your school you should be doing a lot more to make the children mix and see their similarities rather than allowing them so fester on differences. As for the parents splitting the school yard in two come hometime, makes you wonder who the kids really are.
However, it doesn't matter what the circumstances are or what country you come from, in this country you never harm a child, not yours nor anyone elses, regardless of what the little $hits have done to provoke you. All that is doing is teaching these kids that violence is acceptable, then they grow to teenagers and we all start panicking about their aggressive behaviour, wondering where it came from.
This woman should, not could, be charged, and the boy should be made to apologise infront of the whole school for his behaviour. It would appear that perspective has been lost if the childs actions warrant the same attention as the womans.

Was she arrested and interviewed too?
I agree that from the facts relayed by the Daily Mail that it seems harsh that he was arrested if she wasn't but there appears to be no mention.
Whatever the rights/wrongs of the situation, if the boy is to be interviewed then it seems right that he was arreted for the offence of inciting racial hatred. It sounds harsh, may sound OTT but you can't arrest him for shoplifting becasue it sounds nicer than what he's going to be arrested for.
And what else can the police say if the CPS haven't decided what the outcome will be (it is not an offence that the police can make the decison on. Three possible answers - he won't get charged, he could get charged, he will get charged.
