Hi Christina. Unfortunately when I posted I hadn't noticed that our friend cruciverbalist had already given the link on the other crossword section.

Regards K
Yes, I can second that - do give it a try if you haven't already !

Thanks for this K ... I have downloaded a copy and started the crossword, although admittedly with some apprehension as I have not previously attempted The Spectator!
So far a number of the clues I have solved seem more straightforward than the Sun Tel Cryptic ... although the resultant answers are perhaps based on more obscure origins. I will probably hit a brickwall as I get further on ... am I right in thinking it's not "cricket" to ask for assistance with this puzzle? (S)

Hi S. I'm pleased you are giving the crossword a go as I find them fun and not too difficult .Each week's puzzle has a central theme which once you have twigged makes completing the crossword relatively straight forward.

It is not considered to be one of the 'advanced' puzzles which some ABers feel (wrongly) shouldn't be discussed on here.

Good luck and come back if you are stuck.

Regards K
Thank you (S)
Hi K ..I shall have a go at that one ...I have tried it before but I don't always finish them !
Have you seen this one ? I usually manage to do it .They have a different one each month .

Hi Shaney.

I haven't seen this one before but have now printed it off and will work on it later.

Thanks and regards K
K .. I have actually managed to complete the crossword without shouting for assistance ... very enjoyable. Thanks for the link. (S)
Hi K
Hope you don't mind me asking again on this thread .I have finished this crossword .Whoopee! I may send it in but what do I have to do? Do you have to note down the unclued lights on the entry or shade them or something.I have gathered (I hope ) that the theme is Spectator and some of the unclued ones are made up of letters of this word .
Many thanks
Shaney

Hi shaney

Glad you enjoyed the crossword and well done on completing it. I find them good fun and often quite ingenious.

On this occasion there is nothing to highlight in the grid so send it in as is, and good luck.

Thanks for the links you posted.

Regards K

Many thanks for your help K
All the best .S.
