still a few clues to solve but worked hard to get this far not too good on cryptics but I prefer extra clues rather than straight into the answer how do others feel?

I agree it is more fun working it out for yourself so a clue that points you in the right direction is preferable to a direct answer. Anyway, although I have been stuck on my last 3 for some time now, I will not be seeking assistance and neither will I be offering clues until closer to the closing date.

However, this IS a question and answer site so you cannot really criticise others for asking for answers or for giving answers. You can however state your own position on the matter as I have just done.

Like you I generally prefer clues only. Howeve I must confess to a sneaky feeling of relief when someone gives an answer that I have been searching unsuccessfully for. I do agree however that it can spoil a quiz when too many answers are given away freely but we don't know how much time and effort the asker has put into their research so we shouldn't judge too harshly.

Judging from the short period of time which elapses between the quiz being printed and people posting questions on this site, it seems that too many people just can't be bothered to persevere. This is particularly the case when it's a quiz where you have 2-3 MONTHS to find the answers. Why bother sending for the quiz in the first place???

Figi everyone is different so it's up to them the amount of effort they put into solving quizzes or crosswords. It may be folk are in it purely for the financial reward, who knows, who cares?

have you added up the cost of two stamps and envelopes to get a quiz and again to get the answers in order to possibly win �10.00
I would love to hear from anybody who makes a profit.
The main thing is a)some charity,school,church or whatever receives a little help and b) my brain doesn't quite turn to mush.
Co incidentally I won �10.00 for an Alzheimers quiz...is this irony??

I did write MAY and like I wrote, I don't care but it annoys me when folk mump about others who dare to use this site for the very purpose it was created, to seek answers to questions.
