If you make a mistake in a crossword, can you use tippex, or is the entry then disqualified?

Tippex is OK
Ive been lucky enough to win with a couple of tippexed entries in Telegraph crosswords. If the entry is legible that's all that matters.
A much better idea is to use a Papermate Erasermax pen that comes with a rubber. It rubs out mistakes very well and there's no fiddling about with the tippex which in my experience soon clogs up or blobs.
Podge
I asked the same question recently and was assured that others here have won with altered entries. I have ordered some erasable pens though to make it easier.
If it's a crossword I know I'm going to send in (provided I finish it) I do it the old fashioned way in pencil, then double check before inking in. Having said that I still keep the tippex handy
I use a tippex 'pen' which I am still using after I think 2 or 3 years but I know my late mother used to use an eraser pen but she didn't send them off but I haven't won yet anyway! I'll still keep trying

Thanks for all your replies - I am going to purchase an eraser pen.
I asked a similar question a while ago,one answer was to cut out a small square of newspaper from the same page as the crossword and put glue stick on the back and stick in place, its a bit "fiddly" to do, but you cant see it once done, then fill in the letter with a fine felt tip pen, works everytime for me and I have won too.
Nowadays I do the crossword in pencil then I go over when completed with a fine felt tip pen, then dry I rub out any visible pencil marks underneath.
good luck anyway you choose to do it.
