why do you intercede and give the answwer bibster, when a clue has been asked for and is being given?
.... you have had many many answers to a quiz, where you are either NOT seriously trying or the Quiz is TOO HARD for your knowledge .... are you learning anything or just intent on 'winding' others up?
there is a balance to strike - especially with those who appear to BE ABUSING the spirit of this site ....
Some ABers have bent over backwards to help you in the face of criticism ....
Try looking in your local charity shop {if you have one} for a paper copy of Chambers, its worth its weight in gold. I was fortunate enough to pick one up a few months ago for 50p!
On the subject of Chambers, I have my Mum's 1981 copy. I know I should get a new one but, because it was hers, I can't. It is leather and cloth bound, not paperback, so is a pleasure to use.
I doubt a new one would be any better for this quiz. A lot of the answers are old monetary units.
Got tow today. Wel not quite ture - I had some friends to lunch and boom!
I don't think even a Chambers dictionary would help most of the people posting questions from this quiz as most of them seem to have very few brain cells and probably can't read too well either.
