I think grid is wrong this week (5-4,4 but only 12 boxes on grid). Will newspaper make comp void or is it worth sending in, putting the extra letter at side of grid! For info, clue is leguminous plant (vigna sinensis) indigenous to Asia, used like French beans, which I think is black-eyed bean (black-eyed pea would fit grid (12 ltrs) but doesn't match clues across).

As you very sure about the across one as I think black eyed pea is the correct answer.
