MM & KM Links November 2007 [Week 3]
90 Answers
Starting on a very personal note, THIS very posting is my 5,000th on AB. I expect my Blue Peter Badge to arrive through the post any day now ~ at the very least a brownie badge for one-finger typing and abacus bead sliding!
This will also be the third week in the reign of Queen Jan the First and the second week when she'll be launching her own posting. Last week, you will have noticed that AB was "acting up" as we were approaching zero hour, but Queen Jan the Calm coped well with the situation. Hopefully, no such problems will occur this week.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I have spoken to Jan since then and I am sure she wont mind if I issue two warnings. Firstly, on the question of word length, she has on a couple of occasions herself broken the 4 to 8 letter rule when setting her words to be linked, but still insists that her links always adhere to that same 4 to 8 letter rule! Tomorrow, Queen Jan the Lawless will set four words, all of which are of length 3 or 9 letters, BUT your predictions MUST contain between 4 and 8 letters as usual! You are forewarned to avoid anarchy breaking out! (I wish to avoid the peasants becoming revolting!)
Secondly, kettledrum (among others) has been reading the preamble looking for clues. Well Queen Jan the Clueless doesnt work like that! I am telling you this so that you are not misled!
Already there are two players (evsajo & Jools) setting the pace and three others (country_boy, dd47 & JRB) are leading the following pack. One more good strike could lift one of these closer to glory ~ but which one? I expect much from the Shrubbery Squad this week, but they will need to be sharp and focussed at 09.00 tomorrow morning! Thats the time when the MM Link Game should be launched by Queen Jan the Obscure, who will set her four words to be linked by fair means or foul!
If you think that thats early, the sister game (called KM links) will be nearly two hours old by the MM launch time! Look out for seekeerz from Oz who looks after the entries and scoring for that parallel game (from a parallel universe). Do these very early risers ever go to bed?
Good luck for tomorrow, when the Battle for the Points enters its third week

gosh jan the calm, jan the obscure and jan the lawless I keep seeing myself with a vikings helmet on charging up and down, are you all ready to follow me?
I do think I give clues but as crofter says you have to look a little deeper for them, laterally perhaps?
now who is ready to party or are we all sat in a bath of beans for Pudsey bear?

Was due to go to a concert tonight, but my daughter has gone in my place due to me being a little worse for wear...and no It's not the alcohol!!...not yet anyway...so I'm going to get wrapped up and get a bit of fresh air and take a peep in the shrubbery!...wonder what I will find...or who!!

Crofter,
I take cognisance of your advice as to her Maj's preamble - not that I expect that even with your help I will feature in the results.
Oh but the Shrubbery that is a different matter. Last Saturday a.m. I woke up with a log splitter. Where had I been, what had I done? That early morning guilt invaded my waking dreams. Could what I remembered be true or, please, was it just part of the post shrubbery dreams? Please help me, promise me none of you is called Sharleen and you didn't have fishnet tights with ladders and gave me Snake bite to drink?
I've used Google Earth to see where I might have been, for I cannot for the death of me remember, but there are about 6 different Shrubbery's around the UK.
Help, please, help.
I daren't venture forth this evening until I am reassured my worst fears are no more than mere alcohol fuelled phantasmogoria from a week ago.........

I'm afraid the magic mushrooms have now died a painful death ... the sub-zero temperatures have left them looking a sorry sight .. Oh that I had installed extra heating to see them survive the chill of night.
There's now no alternative .. will have to resort to the demon drink ... pass me a bottle or two somebody!! ☺ (S)

Monkey business? Another swig, another swinger. Thereby hangs another tail.
The lures, the enticements of this enchanted shrubbery. The sirens singing, the banshees calling. I am foxed.
Pour me another one, Jan and, please, one for Pauline,
and for afters Sarumite you must, surely, have dried down some fly agaric for the winter months.
and then maybe I could finish
In Xanadu did......
