Why do graphic novels not have so much literary acclaim as written novels? They are not all super hero comic books, many are deep and serious literary art.
I agree with all of you, and I personaaly think graphic novels are of the same literary worth as written work, but the literary and educational establishment don't seem to think so. Can you imagine Neil Gaiman's Mr Punch (illustrated by Dave McKean) being used for school study? I would like to see that.
actually there are many people that enjoy these types of books and there is a lot of respect for the writers illustrators and all. It wasnt until i got older did i really find the true enjoyment of a comic or graphic novel. perhaps this is the problem.age
