there are 26 detachable pieces (roughly cube shaped) + 1 central piece of a more complex shape.

(NB The cube is 3 x 3 x 3 = 27 pieces altogether)

It has 12 edge and 8 corner pieces moving inside a frame of the 6 unmovable center pieces, or a total of 26 cubes and one central non-cubic frame.

Gen2 you are wrong. There are in fact 20 detachable pieces plus one piece containing the six central faces.

My post was incorrect but if you are going to try to be clever and pull me up, at least post correct information youself.
