This is another quizmail picture question. The clue reads that the answer 'sounds' like the surname of a leading character from a BBC comedy series of the 60's and 70s. The picture is of a fairly basic unupholstered chair with some carving (fretwork? or scrollwork?) in the open back, also with plain square legs. Probably a rubbish description, sorry!

There is a Windsor chair. Barbara Windsor was in the BBC`s The Rag Trade in the early 60`s, but I don`t think she was in the 70`s version of the same name on ITV by writers Wolfe & Chesney, so perhaps I`m barking up the wrong tree.
Think it has to be the character's name. Not found it yet. Hope to visit library tomorrow.
